of 19 firefighters to a commercial structure fire in Millvale. 259 was the first arriving engine
and had heavy smoke showing from all sides of the structure. 259 engine stretched an
attack line and cut a hole in the alpha side garage door to gain entry. Once entry was
gained the line was streteched inside and crews worked on locating the fire.  As the engine
crew was making a knock on the fire. 259 Rescues crew stretched a back up line and began
overhaul. The fire was quiclkly knocked and all crews assisted with opening up and
overhauling. Every thing ran smoothly and the fire was quickly placed under control.
2-18-14: 259 Engine assisted 246 with the suppression of rubish/trailer fire at Turners
Garage in Ross. 246 Engine was the first arriving unit and had smoke and fire showing
from beneath and on top of the trailer. Rubbish underneath and the decking of the trailer
were burning. 259 Engine assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. Units returned within
the hour.
3-19-14: At around 2:00pm tones sounded for a residential structure fire on Maplewood Rd in Shaler. 260
Assistant Chief was the first arriving and had smoke showing from the charlie side of the building. 259 Engine
grabbed a hydrant on the way in and pulled an attack line to the charlie side to put a knock on the fire. The
fire breached the charlie side kitchen window once crews stretched to the rear of the structure. 259 and 191
crews gained entry and put a good knock on the fire. A second alarm was sounded and once the fire was
extinguished crews began to open up and overhaul the basement and kitchen area. Crews remained on scene
for over 2 hours.
3-24-14: At 3:31 am tones dropped for a working structure fire in 260's district. 259 engine responded with a  full crew
and upon arrival found heavy fire on the charlie side with the fire extending up the eaves on the bravo and delta side
and into the attic area. 259 crews pulled an 1-3/4 attack line off of the engine and began knocking the fire on the
charlie side of the house as well as both the bravo and delta side. Crews then pushed inside the charlie side 1st division
door and into the kitchen area of the house. Upon entry crews began to open up the ceiling to find fire extending into
the interior of the structure. The fire was quickly knocked down and crews returned a few hours later after overhaul
and cleanup.
